Now that you have cleared up what your true values are and are being honest and up front with any new or potential employer, you can start to change or improve your reputation or what people are saying about you on the street.
Here is how it works.
Example 1
You say to a new employee that we are all about the 3 equal sides of the triangle and then proceed to only ever talk about money. Result is a dis-satisfied employee who feels like they were misled and look for the door.
Example 2
You tell a potential employee that the most important thing to your company is profitability and everything else is secondary. If you make us money you won’t hear a thing. If you lose us money you will hear from us a lot. The result here is, the employee makes an informed decision and knows exactly what to expect and you have an employee that is committed and doesn’t feel like they were lied to.
What you might not consider is what are people out in the hospitalityshpere saying about you or even more important how is it impacting your business.
I have said it a hundred times – companies who don’t have staffing issues have a good reputation and companies that are always struggling to find people don’t!
Your reputation IS YOUR BEST ATTRACTION TOOL, end of story. You can spend $1,000’s to attract people and then mislead them and have them quit. Or you can clean up your back yard and have your best people attract talent for you.
If I ask a candidate if there are any companies they won’t work for and one after one they specifically name your operation – you have a problem, a BIG PROBLEM!
I interview a lot of people and have probably talked to someone from your company, so I have an idea about what is going on where you work but no one ever asks me what I have head or what I recommend to improve things.
What is the single biggest thing your company can do to improve its reputation right now?

You are 100% accurate. I worked as a training manager in a five star, five diamond property for many years. My current company has not asked me once about my previous employers training program.
If you find your current employees strengths, then use them. It will empower them, you and the company!

Well written!!! Thank You!!!
My Comment:
It doesn’t matter how skilled, or successful a sales manager is in producing revenue or with their client retention/loyalty, if there aren’t enough staff members to service each department throughout the property, eventually, the sales manager will feel defeated or let down by their Company and resign. “THEN NO ONE WINS”!!!
